VetriBute is a prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) bolus for the relief of inflammatory conditions associated with the musculoskeletal system in horses. Phenylbutazone — commonly called "bute" — is a synthetic, non-hormonal anti-inflammatory agent indicated in the management of musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis. It's a pyrazolone derivative, entirely unrelated to the steroid hormones, and its analgesic effect is related mainly to its anti-inflammatory properties. Bute remains the most widely used NSAID in equine practice for orthopedic pain and lameness. From VetOne, supplied in a 100-bolus bottle.
