Product Description

Silver Honey Thrush Foam from Absorbine combines medical-grade Manuka honey with MicroSilver BG in an expanding foam built specifically for hooves.

The foam format is what sets it apart from the thrush treatments most people have used. Thrush lives deep in the clefts of the frog, in the collateral and central sulcus, and in cracks a liquid runs straight out of. An expanding foam fills those spaces and stays there, and the horse’s own movement and body weight help work it further in. It covers evenly and doesn’t drip or run off.

The included straw applicator reaches places a brush or squeeze bottle can’t, which makes it practical on barefoot hooves, around shoes, and under pads where thrush is most likely to hide.

It’s gentle enough for daily preventive use but intended to handle stubborn cases as well, and it doesn’t stain the hoof or surrounding skin.

Ingredients

Water, paraffinum liquidum, cetearyl alcohol, steareth-21, propane, butane, panthenol, silver (MicroSilver BG), zinc lactate, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, lactic acid, honey (Manuka), aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder, isobutane, maltodextrin.

How to Use

Shake well for at least 5 seconds before each use.

Remove the straw from the side of the can and insert it into the round opening in the cap. Flip the cap open and press the top button to dispense.

Clean the hoof before applying. Pick out the frog thoroughly, since product applied over packed debris does nothing.

Apply into the clefts of the frog, both the collateral and central sulcus, and into any other hoof structures, holes, or cracks as needed.

Apply daily, or as needed as a preventive.

For external use on horses only. Do not allow the animal to ingest the product.

Talk to your veterinarian or farrier

Thrush is usually a management problem as much as a treatment one. Wet footing, deep bedding that doesn’t get cleaned, infrequent picking out, and a deep or contracted frog all create the conditions it needs. Treating without changing the environment means treating again.

Get a veterinarian involved for lameness, heat in the hoof, a digital pulse you can feel, discharge, or thrush that has eaten deep enough to reach sensitive tissue. Deep sulcus infections and anything bleeding or painful on hoof pick pressure need professional attention rather than a topical alone.
