RxCoriolus Forte Powder for Dogs and Cats

For dogs and cats.

Product Description

RxCoriolus Forte is a concentrated medicinal mushroom powder for immune support, built around turkey tail with five other mushroom and botanical extracts behind it.

Turkey tail, Coriolus versicolor, is the most studied mushroom in veterinary use and leads the formula at 250 mg per gram. The interest in it centers on polysaccharides that appear to modulate immune activity. Shiitake, cordyceps, pleurotus and reishi each bring their own polysaccharide profiles, and astragalus and licorice root are the traditional immune tonics that round the formula out.

The word Forte matters here. This is the concentrated version, which is why it carries a higher price than a general mushroom supplement, and why the dose is small. It is most often reached for in older animals and in pets under treatment where immune support is part of a wider plan agreed with a veterinarian.

It is an unflavored powder that mixes into food.

Active Ingredients Per 1 Gram

  • Turkey tail extract (Coriolus versicolor), 250 mg
  • Shiitake mushroom extract, 150 mg
  • Cordyceps extract, 150 mg
  • Pleurotus extract, 150 mg
  • Astragalus root concentrate, 150 mg
  • Licorice root concentrate, 100 mg
  • Reishi mushroom extract, 50 mg

How to Use

Mix into food. One scoop is 1/4 teaspoon. The label directs by weight:

  • 5 kg (about 11 lbs), 1/2 scoop daily
  • 10 kg (about 22 lbs), 1 scoop daily
  • 25 kg (about 55 lbs), 1 to 2 scoops daily
  • 50 kg (about 110 lbs), 2 to 4 scoops daily

Your veterinarian may adjust the amount. Within the ranges above, the higher end is generally used when the animal is under more demand.

Additional Information

For dogs and cats. 3.52 oz (100 g). This is a nutritional supplement, not an FDA-approved drug.

Tell your veterinarian your pet is taking this, especially if they are on any other treatment. Immune modulating products are worth having on the record.

Safe use in animals intended for breeding has not been proven. Do not use if the tamper evident seal is broken or missing, and keep out of reach of children.

Talk to your veterinarian

This is usually one piece of a plan rather than a standalone, so it is worth starting it with your veterinarian's input on dose and timing.
