Rx Zyme Powder for Dogs and Cats
For dogs and cats.
Product Description
Rx Zyme is a digestive enzyme powder with added gut support ingredients, for pets who do not get everything out of their food.
The enzyme blend covers the four categories that matter at a meal: amylase for starch, protease for protein, lipase for fat, and cellulase for plant fiber, plus alpha galactosidase for the sugars that cause gas and phytase for the phytates that tie up minerals in plant based ingredients. An animal producing enough of its own enzymes does not need this. One losing weight on a normal ration, passing bulky or greasy stools, or gassy after meals may be a different story.
What makes it more than an enzyme product is what sits alongside the enzymes. L-glutamine is the preferred fuel of the cells lining the intestine. Lecithin helps emulsify fat so lipase has more surface to work on. Two prebiotic fibers feed the resident bacteria, and taurine and cinnamon round it out.
Active Ingredients Per 1 Scoop
- N-Zyme proprietary blend, 58 mg, providing amylase 4,000 DU, protease 4.5 10,000 HUT, alpha-galactosidase 50 GalU, phytase 5 FTU, lipase 100 FIP, lysozyme (from egg white) 2,000 mcg, cellulase 100 CU
- Lecithin granules, 450 mg
- L-Glutamine, 450 mg
- Fructooligosaccharides (FOS), 175 mg
- Larch arabinogalactan, 175 mg
- L-Taurine, 100 mg
- Cinnamon powder, 100 mg
How to Use
Mix into food at every meal. The label directs:
- Cats and small dogs, one scoop (1/4 tsp) into each meal
- Dogs over 15 lbs, one scoop per cup of food, per meal
Give it with the meal rather than before or after. Enzymes work on the food they are mixed with, so a dose on an empty stomach does very little.
Do not add it to hot food. Heat denatures enzymes, and warm leftovers straight off the stove will cost you some of what you are adding.
Additional Information
For dogs and cats. Contains lysozyme derived from egg white. This is a nutritional supplement, not an FDA-approved drug.
Safety in pregnant or breeding animals has not been proven. Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight, and do not use if the tamper evident seal is broken or missing.
4.2 oz (120 g). Keep out of reach of children.

Ongoing weight loss on a normal diet, or stools that stay greasy and voluminous, is worth working up rather than managing with enzymes alone, since a few specific conditions cause it and they are treated differently.
