Levetiracetam (leh-vah-teer-ah-see-tam) is used to treat seizures caused by epilepsy, especially when other more commonly used drugs are not effective or tolerated.
- Controls seizures caused by epilepsy
- In certain cases, it's safer to use than other anticonvulsant medications
Consult with your veterinarian for proper dosage and course of treatment.
Do not use in pets who are allergic to it or other similar medication formulations
This drug should be used with caution in patients that have kidney problems or who are pregnant or nursing.
Food and Drug Interactions
Other drugs can interact with this medication, so be sure to tell your veterinarian and pharmacist what medications (including vitamins, supplements, or herbal therapies) you give your animal
Keep away from children and other animals. Not for Human consumption
Possible Side Effects
Levetiracetam is usually well tolerated well in dogs or cats. Some side effects can include
tiredness or lack of energy
Contact your veterinarian if you believe your pet is experiencing side effects.
