Command from VetriMax is a therapeutic cleansing shampoo formulated with sodium hypochlorite and salicylic acid. It's aimed at dogs and cats whose skin needs more than an ordinary wash, particularly those prone to recurring skin problems.

Sodium hypochlorite is the same chemistry behind the dilute bleach baths dermatologists have used in human medicine for years, formulated here at a concentration appropriate for pets. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic, which loosens and lifts scale and crust so the skin underneath can be cleaned properly rather than washed around.

For a dog on a bathing protocol, that combination targets the two things a plain shampoo leaves behind: surface bacterial load and the build-up of scale that keeps giving it somewhere to sit.

How to Use

Wet the coat thoroughly with lukewarm water. Apply the shampoo and massage it in, working down to the skin rather than just over the coat.

Leave it in contact for the time your veterinarian recommends, usually several minutes. Contact time is what makes a therapeutic shampoo work, and it's the step most owners cut short.

Rinse thoroughly. Repeat at the frequency your veterinarian advises.

Follow with a conditioning rinse if the coat dries out, since medicated shampoos strip oils by design.

Avoid the eyes and ears. If shampoo gets in the eyes, rinse with clean water. Wash your hands after bathing.
