Product Description

EquiShield SA is a daily powder supplement formulated for horses dealing with allergies and the skin problems that come with them. Rather than treating the skin from the outside, it works nutritionally, which makes it a companion to topical management rather than a replacement for it.

The formula combines quercetin, a flavonoid included to support a normal histamine response, with sodium hyaluronate and MSM for skin health and hydration, vitamin E as an antioxidant, and rice bran. Ground stabilized flaxseed rounds it out, supplying omega-3 fatty acids that help moderate the immune response to common allergens.

It's most often used for horses with seasonal or environmental allergies, insect bite hypersensitivity, hives, and chronically dry or irritated skin. The powder mixes into feed, which makes it straightforward to give daily over a season.

How to Use

Mix the labeled amount into your horse's feed daily, following the label or your veterinarian's direction.

Start before allergy season where you can. Omega-3 fatty acids and the rest of the formula work over weeks rather than days, so a horse started in early spring is in better shape by fly season than one started mid-flare.

Give it consistently through the season, and keep fresh water available.
