Small dogs run a faster metabolism and eat far less by volume, so every bite has to carry more — and the smaller piece size makes the food easier to eat and easier to portion accurately when a daily ration is only a few ounces.

Freeze-drying keeps it shelf-stable in the bag with no freezer space or thawing involved. Rehydrate the portion with warm water and serve, either as a complete meal or as a topper. Small breeds are also disproportionately represented among picky eaters, and the aroma of rehydrated raw food tends to work where a dry bowl doesn't.

How to Use

Follow the feeding chart on the package for your dog's weight. Add warm water to the portion, let it rehydrate fully, then serve. Small dogs often do better on two or three smaller meals a day than one large one.

Measure carefully. A small dog's daily ration is small enough that eyeballing it, or adding a few extra treats, moves the needle much faster than it would for a big dog.

Transition gradually over about 7 days, starting at roughly 25% new food and increasing every couple of days.

Handle it as you would any raw product: wash hands and bowls after preparation, and refrigerate any rehydrated portion your dog doesn't finish.
