Credelio Quattro / Credelio Quattro-CA1 (lotilaner, moxidectin, praziquantel, pyrantel) Chewable Tablets for Dogs

For dogs and puppies. Prescription required.

Product Description

Credelio Quattro is a monthly flavored chewable from Elanco that covers the broadest range of parasites available in a single oral dose for dogs. It is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease and the treatment and control of roundworm, hookworm, and tapeworm infections. It kills adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations and the treatment and control of tick infestations for one month. It is also indicated for the prevention of Lyme disease infections as a direct result of killing black-legged ticks.

Four active ingredients do the work: lotilaner for fleas and ticks, moxidectin for heartworm prevention, and praziquantel plus pyrantel for intestinal worms. For most dogs, it replaces two or three separate products with one chew a month, which is the practical argument for it. The more products a routine requires, the more likely one of them gets skipped.

Credelio Quattro-CA1 is conditionally approved by the FDA for the treatment of infestations caused by New World screwworm larvae in dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older weighing 3.3 pounds or greater, pending a full demonstration of effectiveness.

Parasite Coverage

Fleas: kills adult fleas; treatment and prevention of infestations
Ticks: treatment and control of infestations for one month
Heartworm: prevention of heartworm disease
Roundworm, hookworm, and tapeworm: treatment and control
Lyme disease: prevention of infection as a direct result of killing black-legged ticks

Available Sizes

Available in five weight-based sizes for dogs and puppies. Select the tablet matching your dog's current weight, and reweigh growing puppies before each refill, since a puppy can outgrow a size band in a matter of weeks.

How to Use

Give once a month, every month, to dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older weighing 3.3 pounds or greater.

Credelio Quattro must be administered with food. For full effectiveness against fleas and ticks, give it with a meal or within 30 minutes of one. Make sure your dog consumes the entire dose and that no part of it is dropped or refused.

If vomiting occurs within an hour of dosing, give a replacement dose. If a dose is missed, give it immediately and resume the monthly schedule.

Important Safety Information

Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Lotilaner belongs to the isoxazoline class, which has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs receiving isoxazoline drugs even without a prior seizure history. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders.

Dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting Credelio Quattro. Infected dogs should be treated with an adulticide at the veterinarian's discretion, since this product is not effective against adult heartworms.

Safe use in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs has not been evaluated. The most frequently reported adverse reactions in clinical trials were vomiting and diarrhea.

Not for use in cats.

Keep out of reach of children and store securely away from dogs, cats, and other animals to prevent accidental ingestion. Wash hands after handling, and seek medical attention immediately if accidentally ingested by a person.

If you suspect your dog has a New World screwworm infestation, seek veterinary care immediately. Treatment includes larval removal and appropriate wound care.
