BLUE Life Protection Formula Large Breed Senior Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe — Dog Food

For senior dogs 50 lbs and over.

Product Description

Big dogs reach their senior years earlier than small ones — often around six or seven — and they get there with more wear on their joints. This recipe is built for that combination: glucosamine and chondroitin for joint support, a calorie level suited to a slower pace, and a large-bite kibble sized for a big mouth.

Protein-rich deboned chicken leads the ingredient list, backed by wholesome whole grains including brown rice, garden vegetables, and antioxidant-rich fruit. Keeping protein up matters in older large breeds, who lose muscle mass more readily than they did in their prime — and that muscle is part of what supports the joints.

Every bag includes Blue Buffalo's LifeSource Bits: a cold-formed blend of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals selected by animal nutritionists and veterinarians, with the antioxidant profile geared toward a senior immune system.

Made without chicken or poultry by-product meals, without corn, wheat, or soy, and with no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.

Benefits

Joint Support for Bigger Frames: Glucosamine and chondroitin support joint health and mobility in aging large breed dogs.

Real Meat First: Deboned chicken is the first ingredient, supplying protein that helps older dogs hold onto lean muscle.

Adjusted for a Slower Pace: Calorie level suited to the reduced activity typical of senior dogs.

Wholesome Whole Grains: Brown rice and other whole grains provide complex carbohydrates and fiber for steady energy and healthy digestion.

LifeSource Bits: A cold-formed antioxidant, vitamin, and mineral blend supporting a senior immune system.

No Fillers: No corn, wheat, or soy, no poultry by-product meals, and nothing artificial.

Feeding Guidelines

Feed according to the chart on the bag, adjusting for your dog's weight and activity level. Split the daily amount into two meals and keep fresh water available.

Keeping an older large breed dog lean does more for mobility than any supplement. Watch body condition rather than the scale alone — you should be able to feel ribs under a light layer of fat.

When switching from another food, transition over about 7 days, and stretch it to 10 if your dog has a sensitive stomach.

For senior large breed dogs. Store in a cool, dry place and keep the bag sealed for freshness.
