BLUE Life Protection Formula Adult Healthy Weight Chicken and Brown Rice Recipe
BLUE Life Protection Formula Adult Healthy Weight Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe — Dog Food
Product Description
This is the reduced-fat version of Blue Buffalo's everyday adult recipe, formulated with fewer calories from fat to help less active dogs hold a healthy body condition without cutting portion size to the point where mealtime feels like a punishment. Protein-rich deboned chicken still leads the ingredient list, with wholesome whole grains including brown rice, garden vegetables, and antioxidant-rich fruit.
Every bag includes Blue Buffalo's LifeSource Bits: a cold-formed blend of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals selected by animal nutritionists and veterinarians. Cold-forming preserves nutrient potency that high-heat processing can degrade.
Made without chicken or poultry by-product meals, without corn, wheat, or soy, and with no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
Benefits
Fewer Calories from Fat: Formulated to support dogs working toward or maintaining a healthy weight.
Real Meat First: Deboned chicken is the first ingredient, supplying protein to help maintain lean muscle while overall calories come down.
Wholesome Whole Grains: Brown rice and other whole grains provide complex carbohydrates and fiber, helping meals feel satisfying.
LifeSource Bits: A cold-formed antioxidant, vitamin, and mineral blend supporting immune system health.
Skin and Coat: Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids help maintain a healthy coat.
No Fillers: No corn, wheat, or soy, no poultry by-product meals, and nothing artificial.
Feeding Guidelines
Feed according to the chart on the bag, using your dog's target weight rather than current weight if weight loss is the goal, and adjust based on results. Split the daily amount into two meals and keep fresh water available.
Weigh your dog every few weeks. Gradual loss — roughly 1–2% of body weight per week — is the goal; faster than that isn't better and can create its own problems. Treats and table food count toward the daily total and are usually what stalls progress.
When switching from another food, transition over about 7 days, starting at roughly 25% new food and increasing every couple of days.
For adult dogs. Store in a cool, dry place and keep the bag sealed for freshness.
