BLUE Basics Adult Small Breed Turkey and Potato Recipe
BLUE Basics Adult Small Breed Turkey & Potato Recipe — Dog Food
Product Description
BLUE Basics is a limited-ingredient diet built for dogs whose systems do better on a shorter list. Deboned turkey is the single animal protein source, paired with easily digestible carbohydrates like peas and potatoes, plus pea fiber and pumpkin to support gentle digestion.
This small breed version is formulated with higher protein and carbohydrate levels to match the faster metabolism and higher energy needs that come with a smaller frame, in a kibble sized for smaller mouths.
Every bag includes Blue Buffalo's LifeSource Bits: a cold-formed blend of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals selected by animal nutritionists and veterinarians, cold-formed to preserve potency that high heat can degrade.
Benefits
Single Animal Protein: Deboned turkey is the only animal protein source, simplifying the diet for dogs sensitive to more common proteins.
Built for Small Breeds: Increased protein and carbohydrates support the higher energy demands of smaller dogs, in a small-bite kibble.
Gentle on Digestion: Peas, potatoes, pea fiber, and pumpkin provide digestible carbohydrates and fiber.
Skin and Coat: Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids help maintain a healthy coat and comfortable skin.
Limited Ingredient List: No corn, wheat, soy, dairy, or eggs, and no chicken or poultry by-product meals.
LifeSource Bits: A cold-formed antioxidant, vitamin, and mineral blend supporting immune health.
Feeding Guidelines
Feed according to the chart on the bag, adjusting for your dog's weight, age, and activity level. Small breeds do well on two or three smaller meals a day rather than one large one. Keep fresh water available.
When switching foods, transition over about 7 days — start at roughly 25% new food and increase every couple of days. That gradual change matters more with a limited-ingredient diet, since upset from a rushed switch is easy to mistake for a reaction to the new protein.
For adult small breed dogs. Store in a cool, dry place and keep the bag sealed for freshness.
