Aurocin CeraDerm is an ear cleanser built around salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid that exfoliates and penetrates dead skin cells, wax buildup, and dirt to clean, dry, and deodorize the ear canal.

What separates it from a basic cleanser is what else is in it. A triple ceramide complex targets skin barrier repair, which matters because the lining of an ear canal is skin, and a damaged barrier is exactly what lets problems recur. Avenanthramides, the anti-inflammatory compounds found in oats, help with irritation and hydration. The formula is moisturizing rather than purely drying, which suits ears that are already sore or that get cleaned frequently.

It finishes with a cucumber melon scent rather than the alcohol smell most ear cleaners leave behind.

How to Use

Fill the ear canal with the solution, then massage the base of the ear for several seconds. You should hear a squelching sound, which means the fluid is reaching down into the canal rather than sitting at the opening.

Let your pet shake the head, then wipe the visible part of the ear and the canal opening with a cotton ball or gauze.

Never use a cotton swab inside the ear canal. It pushes debris deeper and risks damaging the eardrum.

Clean as often as your veterinarian recommends. Weekly is typical for maintenance, more often for pets prone to problems or after swimming and bathing.

If your veterinarian has prescribed ear medication, clean first and let the ear dry before applying it, unless directed otherwise.
