Amitriptyline (a-mih-trip-ti-leen) is a tricyclic antidepressant and may be prescribed to treat behavior disorders such as separation anxiety.
- Treats behavioral issues in dogs and cats
Consult with your veterinarian for proper dosage and course of treatment.
This medication should not be used in pets who are allergic to it or similar medications including clomipramine and imipramine
This drug should be used with caution in patients with seizure disorders, diabetes mellitus, adrenal gland tumors, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, liver, thyroid, or severe heart disease. With too fast or irregular heart rates or that are old or very young.
Food and Drug Interactions
Other drugs can interact with this medication, so be sure to tell your veterinarian and pharmacist what medications (including vitamins, supplements, or herbal therapies) you give your animal
Keep away from children and other animals. Not for Human consumption
Possible Side Effects
Common side effects include drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation.
Contact your veterinarian if you believe your pet is experiencing side effects.
Store in a closed container between temperatures of 68° - 77°F
