Product Description

Allermyl from Virbac is a foaming micro-emulsion shampoo formulated for the management of allergic skin conditions in dogs and cats. It combines mild cleansing agents with essential fatty acids, including linoleic acid, to clean the skin gently while supporting a damaged skin barrier.

Allergic skin is a different washing problem than dirty skin. Ordinary shampoos strip an already compromised barrier and leave the coat drier and itchier than before. This one is built to clean without that trade-off, rinsing away the pollens and environmental allergens sitting on the coat while the fatty acids support the skin underneath.

Bathing matters more in allergic pets than most owners expect. Much of what a dog reacts to is on the skin surface rather than inhaled, so regular washing physically removes the trigger, and it's one of the few things an owner can do that has an immediate effect.

How to Use

Wet the coat thoroughly with lukewarm water. Apply the shampoo and massage it in, working down to the skin rather than just over the coat.

Leave it in contact for the time your veterinarian recommends, usually several minutes. Contact time is what makes a therapeutic shampoo work, and it's the step most owners cut short.

Rinse thoroughly. Repeat at the frequency your veterinarian advises. For allergic pets, that's often more frequent than owners expect, sometimes once or twice a week during a flare.

Avoid the eyes. If shampoo gets in, rinse with clean water.
