Product Description

Omegaderm is Virbac's essential fatty acid supplement for skin and coat, supplied in single-dose sachets. The formula delivers a 5:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, along with vitamins A, E, B6 and biotin, plus zinc.

The nutrients here work on the skin barrier rather than on the symptom. Essential fatty acids are a structural part of the barrier that keeps moisture in and irritants out, and when that barrier is working poorly the result is the dry, flaky, dull-coated picture owners usually notice first. Zinc and biotin support the same tissue from a different direction.

The single-dose sachet is the practical advantage over a pump bottle. Each dose is measured for you and the oil has not been sitting open oxidizing between uses, which matters with fatty acids more than with most supplements. This 8mL size is dosed for medium and large dogs.

How to Use

Mix the contents of one sachet into your dog's food daily, or as directed by your veterinarian.

Give it time. Skin and coat changes follow the growth of new coat, so plan on six to eight weeks of daily use before judging the result rather than a week or two.

Fatty acids add fat and calories, so factor the dose into the daily total for a dog you are managing for weight.
