Product Description
Zymox Ear Cleanser is a gentle, non-toxic cleanser for routine ear maintenance in dogs and cats. It uses the same LP3 enzyme system found across the Zymox line, with lactoperoxidase, lactoferrin, and lysozyme, to clean dirty ears without harsh chemicals.
The important thing to understand is where it fits. This is the maintenance product in the Zymox range, intended for non-infected ears. It's what you use weekly to keep a healthy ear clean, after swimming or bathing, and for dogs whose heavy ears trap moisture. It is not the product for an ear that's already infected.
That distinction matters because the Zymox treatment solutions work differently: with those, you specifically do not clean the ear and do not use other products alongside them. So this cleanser and the Zymox Otic solutions are used in separate circumstances rather than together.
Ingredients
Glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase, lysozyme, lactoferrin, zinc gluconate, coco glucoside, glycerin, propylene glycol, benzyl alcohol.
How to Use
Fill the ear canal with the solution, then massage the base of the ear for several seconds. You should hear a squelching sound, which means the fluid is reaching down into the canal rather than sitting at the opening.
Let your pet shake the head, then wipe the visible part of the ear and the canal opening with a cotton ball or gauze.
Never use a cotton swab inside the ear canal. It pushes debris deeper and risks damaging the eardrum.
Clean as often as your veterinarian recommends. Weekly is typical for maintenance, more often for pets prone to problems or after swimming.
Do not use this cleanser while treating with Zymox Otic solutions, since cleaning disrupts the enzyme activity in those products.

Do not use if the eardrum is ruptured or you're unsure whether it's intact.
