Warnings

This drug should not be used in patients that are allergic to it or drugs like it.

Precautions

This drug should be used with caution in animals that have thyroid conditions, diabetes, asthma, bronchitis, or heart disease. Animals that are pregnant or nursing. Animals that are going to have surgery, including dental surgery.

Food and Drug Interactions

Other drugs can interact with famotidine so tell your veterinarian what medications (including vitamins, supplements, herbal therapies, and treats) you are giving your animal

There are no specific precautions required when handling this medication unless you are allergic to it or other drugs like it . Wash your hands after handling any medication.

Possible Side Effects

Side effects may include mild burning, stinging, irritation, redness of the eyes or change in pupil size.
