Hydroxyzine Pamoate Caplets

Warnings

Pets who are diagnosed with glaucoma, high blood pressure, lung or heart disease, or have an enlarged prostate should not take Hydroxyzine Pamoate. Pets who have a history of allergic reactions to cetirizine should not use this medication.
Pets with urinary or intestinal obstruction may have complications. Pregnant or nursing dogs should not take Hydroxyzine Pamoate
Do not use Hydroxyzine in pets that are allergic to it or to cetirizine.

Precautions

Use with caution on dogs who have severe kidney or liver disease, thyroid problems, prone to seizures or have difficulty urinating.

Food and Drug Interactions

Other drugs can interact with Hydroxyzine, so be sure to tell your veterinarian what medications and suppliments are given to your pet

There are no specific precautions required when handling this medication

Possible Side Effects

The most common side effect is drowsiness, but pets will become more tolerant and this side effect will reduce over time.
Other more serious possible side effects include dry mouth, muscle tremors, decreased gastrointestinal activity, and trouble urinating.

Contact your veterinarian if you believe your pet is experiencing side effects.
