Description

Telmisartan (tel-mi-sahr-tan) is an angiotensin receptor blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure and protein loss through the kidneys in cats and dogs.

Warnings

Telmisartan should not be used in patients that are dehydrated, have low blood pressure, that have had an allergic reaction to it or drugs like it (eg, candesartan, irbesartan, olmesartan, telmisartan, valsartan), or who are pregnant.

Precautions

This drug should be used with caution in patients with severe liver problems.
