Description

Ursodiol (ur-soe-dye-ole) is used to help animals with certain types of gallstones and inflammation associated with the gallbladder. Ursodiol has also been shown to be useful to minimize inflammation associated with chronic liver disease.

Warnings

This medication should not be used in In rabbits, guinea pigs, or rodents.

Precautions

Use with caution in pets with complications associated with gallstones, such as biliary obstruction, cholecystitis, or pancreatitis

Food and Drug Interactions

Other drugs can interact with this medication, so be sure to tell your veterinarian and pharmacist what medications (including vitamins, supplements, or herbal therapies) you give your animal

There are no specific precautions required when handling this medication unless you are allergic to it.

 

Possible Side Effects

Contact your vet immediately if you notice any of the following side effects: allergic reaction, diarrhea, vomiting, depression or jaundice (yellowing of the gums, skin or eyes).

Contact your veterinarian if you believe your pet is experiencing side effects.
