Precautions

This drug should be used with caution in patients that are working or service animals (eg, guide dogs, search dogs, hunting dogs, sled dogs, rescue dogs) as they may become overly sedated (tired) and unable to perform their duties or who are pregnant or nursing

Food and Drug Interactions

Other drugs can interact with famotidine so tell your veterinarian what medications (including vitamins, supplements, herbal therapies, and treats) you are giving your animal

There are no specific precautions required when handling this medication unless you are allergic to it. Wash your hands after handling any medication.

Possible Side Effects

Possible side effects can include sedation (sleepiness,fatigue) is commonly seen.
Drooling.
Incoordination or weakness (eg, stumbling, clumsiness). Keep your animal in a safe area to avoid falls (eg, downstairs) or knocking
over objects.
Vomiting.
