Clindamycin HCL Capsules for Dogs

Description

Clindamycin (klin-da-mye-sin) HCL Capsules is an antibiotic used to treat infections caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms in specific conditions in cats and dogs. Clindamycin is prescribed to fight bacteria that can form with dental infections, skin infections, deep wounds, abscesses, infections of the bone, or osteomyelitis.

Warnings

Do not use Clindamycin that are allergic to it or drugs like it (eg, lincomycin, azithromycin).

Precautions

Use with caution with dogs that have liver or kidney damage, are very young or that are taking the drug cyclosporine, as clindamycin can lower blood levels of cyclosporine

Other drugs can interact with this medication, so be sure to tell your veterinarian and pharmacist what medications (including vitamins, supplements, or herbal therapies) you give your animal

Possible Side Effects

Some side effects include gastrointestinal upset like vomiting and diarrhea, drooling and lip smacking
